Winter Glow-Up
How to adapt your routine to cooler, dryer weather
Winter weather can wreak havoc on your skin. It is important to tweak your skin care so you can maintain a radiant, healthy complexion even in the coldest months. Let’s dive into a winter skincare routine that’s simple and effective.
1. Hydrate from Within
Winter dryness isn’t just about the surface—your skin needs hydration from the inside out. It is important to stay hydrated and to nourish your body with protein and collagen. Adding collagen into routine has not only changed my joints and ligaments but it has made a huge difference in my skin! You can read how to choose the best collagen here.
2. Cleanse Gently
Swap harsh cleansers for a gentle, hydrating formula. Make sure to use a clean wash cloth every time. This helps to prevent breakouts and gently exfoliates your skin. This is a list of cleansers I recommend. Please reach out if you need help or have specific questions.
3. Protect Your Skin Barrier
Cold air and indoor heat can weaken your skin’s barrier. Prepping your skin with a toner helps maintain your skin’s natural pH balance, ensuring your barrier stays strong and healthy.
4. Boost Moisture
Hydration is key during winter. After prepping the skin with toner you want to treat your skin with a hydrating serum before sealing it in with a moisturizer. This serum has been a game changer for my dry skin. It delivers intense hydration and moisture retention. This fast-absorbing gel is clinically proven to instantly increase hydration levels by 212% in one application and maintain increased hydration levels for 8 continuous hours. After applying the serum I apply a moisture locking day cream. At night I apply a thick night cream and mix in an anti-oxidant rich face oil that smells like a luxurious spa. This combination every night leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
5. Don’t Forget SPF
Winter sun can still damage your skin, so don’t skip sun protection. Use a mineral SPF daily to protect against harmful UV rays while keeping your skin hydrated.
6. Nourish Your Hands and Lips
Your hands and lips often take the brunt of winter’s chill. This hand cream soothes dry hands, and the lip serum keeps lips soft and smooth. It is the best lip serum I have ever used!
7. Exfoliate and Moisturize from Head to Toe
It is so important to exfoliate before moisturizing. I love this body exfoliant. It smoothes, polishes, and hydrates with natural exfoliants to buff away dullness and reveal more radiant-looking skin, plus it has nourishing oils for a velvety-smooth after-feel. I also use the most amazing body wash, serum, and lotion to hydrate my skin after showering. It is the best body line I have ever used and it smells so luxurious. You can buy it as a set and I promise you will fall in love with it too!
Winter skin doesn’t have to be a struggle. By incorporating these products into your routine, you can protect, nourish, and glow all season long. If you have specific questions please reach out. I would be happy to help!
