I’m Leah Copham!

I’m a mom of 3 children and a wife to a charming and handsome husband. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner and practiced for 10 years before deciding to take the leap and stay at home when my first daughter was born in 2014. I am also an instrument rated pilot and a die hard Gator fan…hence the name of my blog!

I have always loved to research and learn new things and have never been very good at sitting still. From a young age my mom said I would ask, “what are we doing today?”. I smile every morning when my oldest asks me the same thing. I have struggled with a variety of health conditions (chronic pain, generalized hypermobility-which lead to multiple surgeries, hypothyroidism, kidney stones, allergies, and a pulmonary embolism that tried to take me out) but I have never let it deter me from trying to find a solution or relief. I even moved to Santa Monica, CA for 3 years to work with holistic therapists out there which is when my journey towards a more natural lifestyle began back in 2004. I started this blog to share what I have learned through my struggles and to help others. I believe God has given me a testimony. I would love to help you along in your journey.

Meeting new people and building relationships brings me so much joy.  In fact my parents laughed at me when I called home after my first day at the University of Florida and said, "This is amazing! There are so many new people here to meet!". Coming from a high school graduating class of 39, going to a big university was an exciting change. When I made the decision to not go back to work, I was looking for an outlet to stay connected with other moms while using my skills, knowledge, and passion for health and wellness. As a new mom I started researching everything I used and consumed in and around our home. I quickly realized there were safer non-toxic versions to use and those changes had a profound effect on my health and well being. I am excited to share what I have learned along the way in hopes of making the transition for your family easy and fun.

Speaking of fun...my journey has lead me to many new and exciting opportunities. In 2014, I was approached about a company called Beautycounter.  My friend knew my medical background and wanted to get my feedback on the company. I was immediately drawn to their mission to educate on the importance of safer skin care. I was looking for safer alternatives to offer my patients and this company was doing all of the research on sourcing and safety I felt was necessary.  I wanted to make sure parents knew how to make safer choices for their family so I decided to get involved and it was the best choice I have ever made for my family. It grew into an amazing business and allowed me to stay home with my children. It has created the most amazing community and friendships. I absolutely LOVE what I do and love sharing it with others. In May 2024, Beautycounter had to abruptly close its doors for 6 months which sent me into research mode yet again. I recently partnered with Shaklee to continue to serve my community with safe, EWG verified solutions.

I have always been health focused. Prior to having a major jaw surgery in 2011, I stumbled upon the Paleo diet. I quickly adapted that as a new way of eating to prepare my body for the enormous healing that was ahead. That process lead me on a journey into non-toxic living and I continue to learn each day. The transition into safer and healthier living is a marathon, not a sprint.  You don’t need to change everything in a day.

My goal is always progress, not perfection. Lowering stress is the most important thing you can do for your health! I hope you will be blessed, entertained, and encouraged by my blog. I look forward to getting to know you.
