Last Monday it was confirmed that Beautycounter will not be reopening in 2024. They are planning to push the open date until some time in 2025. I honestly wasn’t surprised when Gregg told us. After so many delays and issues it was clear they really needed time to reimagine things and fix the things that were broken. My reaction was much different to this call than it was on May 6th when I realized the brand I had loved and dedicated so much to was gone over night. However, I soon realized my career wasn’t over, it was just time to start a new chapter. There is still so much more work to be done in the personal care products and supplements industry and I LOVE serving and educating. I am forever grateful for Gregg and the platform Beautycounter gave us. Beautycounter advocates put clean beauty on the map and now we are doing that with Shaklee.
I prayed a lot about my next steps during the month of May. I made a decision to try Shaklee but I wasn’t all in. I was still grieving the loss of Beautycounter and our community and I didn’t really think I would like the products. I had no idea that 2.5 months later I would be genuinely happy and thriving in my new business home. I aligned with a brand and a community of smart passionate humans who are motivated by serving with education on safe products and focused on promoting wellness from the inside out.
From our first call with Roger Barnett, the owner and CEO of Shaklee, we were treated like family. We were greeted with kindness as we grieved and journeyed forward. He has continued to ask what he can do for us and their leadership team has rallied around us showing us the clinical testing and rigorous screening processes behind the products. Our team even got a tour of the lab to show us the behind the scenes detail.

Stability, longevity, and an uncompromising dedication to safety and transparency were 3 of my non-negotiables. I am proud to be a leader with Shaklee. I was honored to have been welcomed into Roger (the owner and CEO of Shaklee) and Sloan’s home to share an intimate dinner conversation on her grandmother’s china that further solidified their dedication to family and purpose.
While sitting at his dinner table he told us that they asked him what he wanted on his office door when he started with Shaklee 20 years ago. He told them to put the names of his children on his door so he would always remember why he is doing this work. My children are also my why. My grandfather kept that in the forefront of his mind as he built his business and my parents did the same thing as they built my father’s medical practice. I always want to work with integrity and purpose while being able to be there for my children when they need me.
